At Graven Hill Primary and Preschool, we know how important high‑quality wrap around care is for working families. Reliable childcare at the beginning and end of the school day helps children feel secure, supports family routines, and enables parents and carers to balance work and home commitments with confidence.

Our wrap around care is designed to provide a safe, nurturing and enjoyable environment for children aged 2–11, ensuring continuity, comfort and connection throughout the day. We aim to make each transition — from home into school, and from school back into family time — as smooth and positive as possible.

What We Offer

Breakfast Club

• Runs from 7:45am until the start of the school day.
• Children can enjoy a varied, healthy breakfast and should arrive by 8:00am if they wish to eat.
• At 8:30am, staff escort children to their classrooms to ensure a calm, punctual start to learning.
   

After School Club

• For Preschool children (aged 2–4): 3:00pm – 5:15pm
• For Primary children (aged 4–11): 3:15pm – 5:15pm
• Children receive a snack around 4:30pm, supporting them through the afternoon until the family evening meal.
• Sessions take place in the school hall, with access to our outdoor play area, giving children time for fresh air, physical play and relaxation.
   

Activities and Environment

Our wrap around care provides a blend of:

• Relaxed, child‑led play
• Opportunities to use outdoor equipment
• Structured activities
• Calm spaces for reading or resting

This approach ensures children can unwind after the structured school day while still engaging in enriching and enjoyable experiences.

Cost of Wrap Around Care

The sessions cost the following and are based on our preschool privately paid for sessions:

• Breakfast club - £7

• After School Club - £14
   

This ensures our provision is accessible to families while enabling us to provide high‑quality staffing, resources and a nurturing environment.

Collection Procedures

• Children can be collected any time up to the end of their booked session.
• All children must be signed out by an authorised adult listed on the registration form.
• Any adult collecting must be over 18, know the family’s password, and show photo ID if not a regular collector.
   

If parents anticipate being late, they should contact the school office.
A £10 late collection fee applies; details of this can be found in the contract.

Registration

To apply for a place at either Breakfast Club or After School Club, families must complete the extended services contract and data form available from the school office.
